YouTube arrives at Solid Rock Riders!

28 Aug 2012

The first video was launched today on YouTube. Produced by Backerhaus Media on behalf of the Solid Rock Riders organization, it is a four-part series on cycling gear—the tune up, helmets, gloves, and HIP—Hydration, Inflation, and Protection.

YouTube presentation of Tune-up

Seth Safie of Planet Bike in San Antonio advises viewers to take the bike in to a reputable shop for a tune up. Since that it is Solid Rock Rider's policy that their media presentations are non-commercial, Mr. Safie did not mention his employer. He points out eight major items to be covered when getting a bike ready for the road—or a mountain bike for the trails.

Patrick Innes and Nils Carrion, both of Planet Bike, starred in the presentation of selecting helmets. Innes also provided a presentation on gloves and the HIP concept.

Founded by Carlos Gallardo, Planet Bike has two stores: one on Bandera at Echo Hill and the newest at Loop 1604 and Stone Oak. The footage for the video was shot at the Stone Oak venue.

Gallardo is originally from Peru where his family owned a bike shop.

The Technology

Backerhaus used Camtasia Studio video software to produce the MPEG4 presentations that are uploaded to YouTube.
